Role:
As a Network Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our network infrastructure. You will design and implement security measures, monitor network activity for potential threats, and manage key security tools such as firewalls and VPNs to ensure a secure and resilient network environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement Network Security Measures: Develop and deploy network security solutions to protect the organization’s network infrastructure from internal and external threats.
- Monitor Network Traffic: Continuously monitor network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity, and analyze data to detect potential security incidents or breaches.
- Manage Firewalls and VPNs: Configure, maintain, and optimize firewalls and VPNs to ensure secure network access and prevent unauthorized access.
- Incident Response: Respond to network security incidents by investigating and mitigating threats, and implementing remediation measures as needed.
- Security Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network security configurations, incidents, and changes. Prepare reports on network security status and incidents for management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT and security teams to integrate network security measures with broader organizational security initiatives and projects.
- Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest developments in network security technologies and threat landscapes to continuously improve network protection.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in network security engineering or a similar role, with a strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced certifications or degrees are a plus.
- Expertise in managing and configuring firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other network security tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in monitoring and responding to network security incidents.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex network security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Reporting Line:
The Network Security Engineer will report to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), contributing to the organization’s overall network security strategy and initiatives.
